How we work

Great camera work needs something solid underneath. That part is ours.

A dolly on track, a gimbal, a rig on a moving car, a mount that has to hold dead still, or a crane reaching where nobody can stand. Whatever the story needs, across every day of the shoot.

We rarely arrive with the answer already fixed. The best solution usually comes from talking it through with camera, the director and production. It comes down to what the shot has to do, how much time the day really has, and how much of it the grip department should claim to set up the shot. Some setups want speed, some want exactness, and knowing which one you are in is a large part of the job. On a feature or a series, that thinking starts in prep and runs to the last shooting day.

We know camera and grip kit well and bring that in early, before something turns out not to fit. When a job goes beyond what we know, we are quick to bring in a specialist, or have the piece we need built for us. There are plenty of good people in this business, and the smart move is to use them.

Safety comes before the shot, every time, and nothing goes up that we would not stand under ourselves.

We are a crew that is fit, sharp and quick on its feet, and keeps its pace. Over a long shoot, when the days get heavy and the schedule gets tight, that is worth more than any equipment list.
